COVID-19 Updates

The Louisville Family Animal Hospital Team has been closely monitoring the unfolding of COVID-19 and its impact on our community. The rapidly changing environment of this pandemic, and what is now considered a national emergency in the U.S, has caused a global adjustment in our personal and professional lives. Rest assured we are currently open for regular business hours and are continuing to monitor the situation as it evolves. We will alert you promptly with any changes.

Given the key role that social distancing plays in controlling the spread of COVID-19, we feel that it is important to minimize client interactions in the lobby and the clinic in general. As of 730AM, March 18, 2020, we will be moving to a curbside format for all appointments. We will remain open for pets but request that you please call us at 303-661-0702 upon arrival. We will obtain a history regarding your pet and a staff member will come to your car and bring your pet(s) into the building. The doctor will perform our typical full exam and then call you back with our findings and recommendations for care.

For routine care visits, we will do our best to complete all communications and services within a 45-minute window. If it is more convenient to admit your pet for a longer period of time, just let us know and we will attempt to accommodate your needs.

We have always offered to admit patients for care while their family members went to work, ran errands, etc, and many of you have utilized that option in the past with great success. This service is still available.

If you have prescription medications or food to pick up, please call us to provide payment over the phone. A staff member will place your items and your receipt on the bench in front of our hospital.

We are happy to announce as of April 17th that per Colorado Veterinary Medical Association guidelines, we will resume seeing all wellness care appointments. Rest assured we are continuing to take extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of our wonderful staff and clients. Our staff members are wearing masks and gloves when handling your pets and washing our hands in between every patient. We will also be continuing are curbside protocol during this time. If you have any questions about whether your pet should be seen, please call at 303-661-0702.

We are happy to announce that per Governor Polis' new executive order, we will resume performing elective procedures starting immediately. If you would like to schedule an elective surgery for your pet, please call us at 303-661-0702. Rest assured we are continuing to take extra precautions to ensure the health and safety of our staff and clients.

Starting Wednesday, April 29th, we will also be offering telemedicine consultations for select non-emergency services. Through telemedicine consultation, you and your veterinarian will discuss your reason for scheduling the appointment and go over any questions/concerns you may have. As telemedicine consults are video calls, your doctor will be able to view and observe your pet for a better understanding of your pet's heath. Telemedicine is an excellent extension of hospital capabilities which we are excited to offer to our pet parents. Please call to schedule a telemedicine appointment. Please note not every type of appointment is eligible to be handled via telemedicine.

We are closely monitoring the guidance of the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and local authorities regarding the spread of the virus to ensure that the actions that we are taking are comprehensive and appropriate.
