Susie joined LFAH two days before her birthday in March 2023. She has a lifetime of animal care, starting with her work on an alpaca ranch owned by her parents. She graduated with a B.S. in Zoology from Colorado State University with the goal of learning every way humans could work to make the world safer for animals. From here, she worked several years as a wildlife rehabilitator, primarily with birds and many, many squirrels.
Eventually Susie found herself in the veterinary world as a nurse, taking her love of cats to a level of expertise, frequently trimming the nails of the “untouchables” and how to burrito like a pro. She loves to learn about the icky parts and creepy crawlies, but mostly loves the feeling of helping animals in need.
When not at work, Susie loves hanging out with her own cats and chickens. She reads, writes, and plays video games. She also spends too much time knitting with her infinite supply of alpaca yarn.
