Veterinarian

Chris Blum

Originally from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Dr. Blum received his B.S. in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a M.S. in Physiology from North Carolina State University. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania's School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2005. In 2006, he moved to Colorado and joined a small animal general practice in Golden where he was the Medical Director for five years. At that time, in addition to continuing to pursue interests in Western medicine, he decided to explore his interest in veterinary acupuncture and became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2007. Following this, Dr. Blum completed a surgical internship with Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists (now Colorado Animal Specialty and Emergency). After the internship, he decided to return to general practice with VCA as an associate and was ultimately promoted to Medical Director for 3 practices. After some time, Dr. Blum decided to leave clinical practice for a different challenge and entered the veterinary recruiting field. During this time, he was a coach for the Client Communications Lab for third year vet students at CSU and found a passion for client care, communication, and client partnership. After several years as a recruiter, Dr. Blum came to realize that patient care and client service were his true calling and decided to rejoin clinical practice again.

Over the years of practicing and seeing the benefits of acupuncture, Dr. Blum knew there was more he could learn to better the lives of his patients. This led to his decision to further his education in integrative medicine. He is working towards becoming a Certified Veterinary Chinese Herbalist through the Chi University. Dr. Blum is excited to bring this treatment modality to our patients!

Dr. Blum’s clinical interests include internal medicine, integrative medicine, geriatric medicine, and pain management.

When he is not at work, you can find him at the gym, spending time with my partner (an acupuncturist for humans) and his two house rabbits, or out in his backyard reading an enjoyable book.
